We know that the United States Postal Service is one of the few agencies that pops to mind when people are moving. In general, everyone does a good job of contacting the post office and filing a change of address. Mainly, because they would like to continue receiving their mail and generally are quickly reminded when their mailbox is empty for a few days. However, there are other agencies to be considered when you move including the following:
Internal Revenue Service we put together a quick list for our users of the various ways to change your address with the IRS.
Department of Motor Vehicles this is another one that is mandatory and generally people do within 30 days of moving to a new address. You can find more information for your state by using our DMV finder.
Social Security Administration this one is important especially if you are on social security but is a good idea in general to keep them updated on your address.
